“What do you do?”

Uh--

I help small to medium-sized companies grow with effective marketing solutions.

I didn't go to school to learn how to do that -- even the name of my company "Bronstad Design" sounds more like what my degree is in (Studio Art). And I still do quite a bit of "design"... I'm good at it, and enjoy it.

I guess if I had to nail down what it is I bring to the table, it's problem solving. I love figuring out stuff -- connecting dots, seeing patterns, finding elegant solutions. I'm big on process. I would be a terrible assembly-line worker (or maybe the best ever) because I can't do repetitive mind-numbing dreary toil without completely losing my mind (or figuring out how to do it better).

So when people ask me "what do you do" I sometimes ask, "What is it that you need?"
